Salisbury’s call for an investigation stems from allegations that the district may be mismanaging taxpayer dollars, including claims of funding two superintendent salaries and questionable board-approved expenditures. ‘They feel their hard-earned money is being misused,’ Salisbury stated, highlighting public accusations about the district’s spending habits.
School board vice president Karen Lyons fired back, labeling Salisbury’s actions as ‘criminal’ and ‘irresponsible.’ ‘She never bothered to reach out to us for clarification,’ Lyons argued, emphasizing that the district would have gladly provided detailed documentation to prove its fiscal responsibility. The district’s solicitor echoed this sentiment, stating, ‘We’re committed to transparency, but we can’t address concerns if no one asks.’
