Get ready to celebrate the 45th anniversary of MÖTLEY CRÜE with a special release! On April 18, 2026, Record Store Day will feature the long-awaited "Live Wire" EP, marking a significant moment in the band's history. This EP, originally released as a radio-only promo in 1982, is now available on 12-inch color vinyl for the first time, complete with new cover art. Side A includes the tracks 'Live Wire' and 'Take Me To The Top', while Side B features 'Merry-Go-Round'.
But here's the intriguing part: 'Live Wire' carries a powerful message. In 2019, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx revealed that the song is a poignant reflection on domestic violence, drawing from his personal experiences with his mother and stepdads. This hidden gem was initially part of their debut album, 'Too Fast For Love', which saw a limited release in 1981 through Leathür Records. A year later, Elektra took over, remixing and adjusting the track listing for a wider audience.
As MÖTLEY CRÜE continues to make waves, they're gearing up for their highly anticipated 'The Return Of Carnival Of Sins' tour. This 33-city trek, kicking off on July 17, 2026, in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their groundbreaking 'Carnival Of Sins' tour and the 45th anniversary of the band. Live Nation is producing this tour, and EXTREME and TESLA will be joining as support acts. MÖTLEY CRÜE is also committed to giving back, with $1 from every ticket sold donated to ASAP! (After School Arts Program) through the Mötley Crüe Giveback Initiative.
The band's Las Vegas residency, initially set for spring 2025, was postponed due to frontman Vince Neil's health issues. In September 2025, Neil revealed he had suffered a series of strokes, culminating in a major one during the Christmas 2024 night, which left him bedridden. This led to the postponement, with the band citing a 'medical procedure' as the reason. Despite the setbacks, MÖTLEY CRÜE's resilience and dedication to their fans remain unwavering.
